Girls Varsity Basketball Book First Trip To WPIAL Semifinals

The girls varsity basketball team accomplished a couple of program firsts after defeating No. 3 Elizabeth Forward in the WPIAL Class 4A Quarterfinals on Friday night at Gateway High School.
The 16-point win booked the Golden Rams into the WPIAL semifinals for the first time and qualified them for the state tournament for the first time.
The Golden Rams only allowed the Warriors to score in double digits in one quarter.
Jocelyn Bielak led the offense with 15 points, followed closely by Katelyn Myers with 14 points.
The Golden Rams will face section opponent, North Catholic, in the semifinals on Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.
