Meet The Athletic Director
Highlands School District’s first female Athletic Director is no stranger to the district and community. Ms. Katie Jo Stobert, a Highlands athlete, Class of 2000 graduate, teacher and administrator easily transitioned into the role of Athletic &Transportation Director in the fall of 2023.
“It is my honor and privilege to have the opportunity to give back to my alma mater,” said Ms. Stobert, a scholar-athlete who played basketball, soccer and softball as a student. “Highlands gave me the foundation to be successful.”
Ms. Stobert received her Elementary Education degree from Slippery Rock University, Educational Leadership master’s degree from Edinboro University and Principal’s Certification from Point Park University. Prior to her role as Athletic Director, Ms. Stobert taught for 15 years at Highlands schools before taking on the role of the Middle School’s Dean of Students for one year.
As a director for both athletics and transportation, Ms. Stobert’s responsibilities include overseeing all grades 7-12 athletic programs, supervising coaches, working with ABC Transit to ensure accurate and safe bus transportation for students, and scheduling field trips and athletic events. Her goals are to continue to rebuild athletic teams and update facilities.
“Being raised in this community has allowed me to have an authentic understanding and appreciation for what it means to be a “Ram 4 Life,” said Ms. Stobert. “Highlands holds a special place in my heart, and I couldn’t be prouder to still be a part of it!”
Ms. Stobert’s wants to give a special THANK YOU to her family, wife Amanda; children Will, Dom, Zoey (all Highlands graduates) and Brady (10th grade) for all their love and support as she navigates her new role.
