Varsity Baseball Edges Knoch In Section Opener

The varsity baseball team picked up its first win in its section opener against Knoch at Pullman Park on Monday.
After falling behind 1-0, the Golden Rams scored five unanswered runs.
The Knights answered back with four to tie it before Highlands scored the game-winning run in the fifth.
Kristian Kocon came on in relief of Luke Bombalski to pick up the win. Both combined to allow only three hits.
Sal Barbarino led the offense with two hits. Also recording hits were Kocon, Boyd Brown, Mike Alworth, Carson McGraw, Nick McQuade and Will Celko.
The Golden Rams improve to 1-3 over and 1-0 in the section.
They will host Knoch tomorrow in the second game of the series at 4 p.m.
